Our language classes on iPhone and iPad contain complete offline written courses for their particular language, together with interactive verb, vocabulary, grammar and listening exercises. All the words and phrases are available to listen to in high quality audio through an in-app purchase as well.
Right now, Spanish Class, French Class, Portuguese Class, Italian Class, German Class and My English Class are available, together with their Lite counterparts Spanish Class Lite, French Class Lite, Portuguese Class Lite, Italian Class Lite, German Class Lite and My English Class Lite.
Every course covers the following content, split into 5 different course levels:
- All tenses, with conjugations of more than 100 verbs, and irregular forms indicated
- 4000+ words, sorted into categories such as business, transport and vacation
- 40 grammar articles, covering all important grammar
- 200 useful phrases
And the following features:
- Highly customizable exercises on all of the above, with a fun awards system that is integrated with the game center which makes practicing fun, with separate awards for the vocabulary, verbs, grammar and listening exercises.
- Keeping track of your progress by saving statistics and summaries of all done exercises, together with errors made.
What makes us stand out of the competition?
- The app is fun. It turns language learning into a game. The app is integrated with the game center and contains 14 different achievements to reach and leaderboards for perfect exercise series and correct answers, amongst other ones. This is unique for a language app and makes this app quite original.
- Highly customizable exercises. You decide what you want to practice. For vocabulary, you can mark words you have difficulty with and practice those or decide to practice a specific word category, such as business, transport or vacation. For tenses, you can make a selection of all tenses and decide to only practice irregular forms. For grammar, you can practice a specific topic as well.
- The app offers tons of content. No other language app offers more than 4000 words, tenses for more than 100 verbs, a complete grammar reference and 200 useful phrases in one package. If they offer this much in multiple packages, they are about 10 times more expensive than our app in total.
- High quality audio and voices for all words and phrases. The audio output is near perfect. The app even distinguishes between Spanish Spanish and Mexican Spanish, or Portuguese Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. Users can set their preference through a setting.
- Production quality. The app looks good. Some apps competing with ours, do not pay any attention to detail.
- The app keeps track of your results. Other language apps do not do this. You can check on your progress and you can also check your exercise history to see which errors you made previously.
What do we have planned for the near future?
- Writing exercises: the word, verb and grammar exercises will get a “writing” instead of multiple choice option, which will present the user with a textbox to type in instead of the multiple choice questions, for a bit more of a challenge.
- More grammar exercises. The next update will contain 300 more grammar questions.
- Image exercises, such as on clock times.
- Making it possible to add your own words and phrases to the app through the http://www.languageshq.com website.
